Wednesday June 18. Out for a walk. A carpark beside the wrecker's yard. The valued and useful cars and the discarded trash they will become in a few short years.
Thursday June 19 2025. Matariki tomorrow. We are cutting out stars to decorate the house for the family dinner tomorrow.
Friday June 20 2025. Matariki stroll in the garden in the new gumboots.
Saturday June 21 2025. One of the themes of Matariki is remembering those who have died in the past year, so we remembered Jonny. Family gathered at our place, we ate, planted a kowhai, had karakia and remembered him. For dinner we ate salmon, cooked in the smoker he used when he used to stay with us. I am reflected in its bright lid.
