Photography is about recording. I'm trying to look with interest and awareness at the ordinary, everyday things that surround me. This week has been wet and cold, so the things I saw were, for the most part, indoors. I did lean out of my bedroom window to look at a tui sitting in the top of a blossom tree, cleaning the rain off its flight feathers. I did take a stroll on a bleakly imposing beach.

Sunday August 10 2025. A cold wet day but we still went for a walk on Allan's Beach.

Friday August 15. I'm in a couple of photo groups and one had a weekly challenge of "upside down". It's a way of reframing things - stepping outside of the way we habitually view the world in order to see the colours and patterns that are all around us. So. Our kitchen. Upside down.
