Influenza A has departed, gone off in search of new and greener pastures. Now it's time to try and recover some of the physical fitness which evaporated when we were sitting around coughing and feeling sorry for ourselves. So we've been walking again.
Enforced idleness wasn't all bad. I watched a lot of youtube clips involving brainy and/or holy people chatting about the nature of life, the universe and everything. I read a bit. I got my daily practice of silence sauntering along quite smoothly. I got ducks in a row and joined dots and had a few aha moments.
Since my last Camino in 2015 there is something which I sort of understand but find it hard to wrestle into words. CS Lewis once said "any fool can speak learned language. The vernacular is the real test. If you can't put your faith into it then either you don't understand it or you don't believe it." I used to have that printed and hanging on the wall where I could see it when I wrote sermons. Perhaps now ive got my ten years of hazy understanding tamed enough to fit into words. Perhaps I'm nearly ready to start explaining. Watch this space. But for now, heres some pictures from the week past.
